Keeping up with the Keyes

mostly the little one

Baby

Kevin!

Well Kevin didn’t take me up on my deal, so we had to go in after him! Heather tried valiantly for 14 hours to have a natural birth. Our doctor didn’t pressure us into the decision but we thought the little guy had been through enough.  So at around 3am we switched to a far less cozy, yet well lit room and the doctors went to work.  It was incredible to watch, and I will never forget the first time I saw that scrunched up little face. The nurses were making all kinds of comments when he came out.  “He looks like a 3 month old!”, was one of them. They took him over to the scale and he landed at 9 lbs 9 oz.

Not happy to be evicted.

After they cleaned him up a bit they gave him to me.  We did an extended “chest bump” to celebrate.

Guy time.

Meanwhile,  Mom’s vital organs were put back in.

Happy and tired Mom.

Back to our room where Kevin had his first bath.

It was nice but mostly he just wanted to be reunited with the one who watched over him for all of those months.  He soon got his wish.

Home

Home.

We are in love.  You were worth the wait Kevin.
